The above presentation is by Dr. Carol MvMakin. She is the founder of Frequency Specific Microcurrent. She talks about the history of microcurrent care up to its present use.

Most of you have experienced the way that I muscle test. I use it for chiropractic purposes, nutritional recommendations and now Frequency Specific Micro Currents.

Chiropractic Usage – Find a weak muscle – when indicated adjust the segment of the spine where the nerve to the muscle exits the spine and determine if strength has returned. At that point, if the muscle does strengthen, we can assume the stress has been taken off the nerve, joints, muscles, tendons, or other tissues that have been causing interference to the weak muscle. As a result, we often see pain reduced and function improved. If muscle strength has not returned, then some form of hands-on muscle work is used to bring strength back. Exercises are then prescribed to have you help yourself to maintain the corrections. (The majority of this work is now being done by Dr. Jake Monokian.

Nutrition – From a nutritional standpoint, when the doctor touches a segment of the spinal and a muscle weakens the doctor then places one of several supplements, that are known to benefit muscles, tendons, discs, or nerves, on the patient one by one. If the muscle strengthens with one of the supplements, the doctor presumes the area of the spine wants this nutrient. So rather than recommending 5 or more supplements we can narrow the choices to one or two. Touching over the organs of the body, or areas presumed to be associated with a specific organ and known as reflex points (based on clinical data dating back to the 1960’s), produces the same reflex change in muscle tone, if the organ is under stress. In essence, we are asking the body, where do you have stress, do symptomsc oorespond to that gland or system and what nutrient would help in healing or improving function?

I know this sounds unconventional and frankly, I would have a hard time believing this if I did not see it work effectively on a day-to-day basis over my 40+ years of practice. How does this happen? Scientifically, we don’t know. This is data about muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and organs and their associated reflexes that has been accumulated by thousands of doctors and taught by many experienced and highly educated doctors since the late 60’s. Through nutritional trial and error, to positive outcomes of improved function, reductions of signs and symptoms, and improved exam/clinical findings the associations between tissues and reflexes have been developed. There are multiple theories on how this works. Here is one. We know that there is an electromagnetic or frequency specific to that supplement and then we believe or assume that it interacts with the frequency of the involved tissue or systems under stress. This elicits a reflex response in the form of strengthening or weakening a muscle. To be clear; not on all people all the time however, it does work on most people to various degrees. Many of these patients have tried multiple courses of care with little or no results before attempting this form of care.

Frequency Specific Microcurrents (FSM) – Microcurrent treatments have been utilized since the late 1800’s early 1900’s. Unfortunately, in 1910 the Flexner Report, sanction by the Carnegie Institute, the AMA and the Rockefeller Institute had a damning effect on all the complementary / alternative care schools and doctors.
Authorities were then instructed to confiscate, among other things, microcurrent machines, energy medicine journals were shut down, publications confiscated and doctors practicing with such devices were shut down.
Slowly, the use of micro currents regained credibility to the point that Cleveland Clinic utilizes FSM. FSM is currently being researched and utilized at the Cleveland Clinic, at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for Wounded Warriors, at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago, and elsewhere.https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/15935-frequency-specific-microcurrent and other institutes , chiropractors, naturopaths, acupuncturist, medical doctors and physical therapists are learning about and utilizing this form of care. Basically, frequencies are divided into pairs, A and B frequencies, and various pairs of frequencies have been grouped into protocols aimed at specific conditions of the body. Frequency A is the treatment frequency. (example: 40Hz has been researched and published to reduce inflammation and increase ATP by 500% - ATP is commonly referred to as the "energy currency" of the cell). Specific frequencies have been clinically shown to target area such as nerves, joints, disc’s, cartilage, bone, and hundreds of other tissues including organs and portions of the brain that have their own specific frequencies.
To be clear:
These protocols and statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. Resonance Therapy is not intended to diagnose or treat any disease or condition and is to be used as an adjunct therapy. Any mention of conditions, tissues, organs, or glands are an expression of what has been correlated from clinical data, not a diagnosis.
I purchased my first Frequency treating machine in the early 1980’s and several others since that time. I purchased my first FSM machine in June 2021. Completed a 40 hour course and began using the frequencies on family, friends and selected patients. I had mixed results as I learned more and more about their usage. Results continue to improve as I understand more about this form of treatment while I have been taking advanced courses. I also attended a two-day practicum in Philadelphia in July 2022 where the founder of FSM technique gave hands on instruction.
I have also been able to muscle test the paired frequencies to determine if certain frequencies may be more beneficial than others. Combining Nutrition and FSM has yielded very good results for acute and chronic conditions. I hope to help advance this technique in the future. Prior to scheduling an appointment and cost of care:

A patient can contact me directly at: [email protected]. I will send them a comprehensive questionnaire. Often I will have follow-up questions and once I have a good understanding of their complaint(s), I will contact the patient to express that my services may be helpful or that I think they would be better served by another type of practioner. An appointment is then made through me.

Cost:
Initial Visit (1-2 hours): Exam – nutritional Reflex testing – FSM reflex testing – FSM Treatment (if indicated): $150
After Initial Exam
Treatment Costs:
$40 for testing the paired frequencies of one or more protocols. (15-20 min)
$40 for treatment (30 min to 1 hour or more)
$30 for nutrition testing (supplements will be recommended and I utilized and stock mostly Standard Process Supplements along with specific supplements from other companies that have been shown to be effective)
Results range from immediate reduction of symptoms to 4 to 6 weeks at twice a week treatments.
